Rita Dove

Rita Dove, Pulitzer Prize winner and former U.S. poet laureate, is the only poet to receive both the National Humanities Medal and the National Medal of Arts. Other honors include the Wallace Stevens Award, the American Academy of Arts and Letters’ Gold Medal in Literature, and the National Book Award for lifetime achievement. Her most recent collection is Playlist for the Apocalypse: Poems. She teaches creative writing at the University of Virginia.
