Andrew M. Davenport

Andrew M. Davenport is Vice President for Research and Saunders Director of the Robert H. Smith International Center for Jefferson Studies at Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello. He is a historian of the early United States, slavery, and African American history and culture. Davenport is working on a book about the enslaved families who were sold from Monticello after Jefferson’s death in 1826.
