David Lehman

David Lehman’s twelve books of poems and eleven of nonfiction include The Morning Line: Poems; A Fine Romance: Jewish Songwriters, American Songs, which won the Deems Taylor Award from ASCAP; and Ithaca, which won the New Criterion Poetry Prize for 2025. Lehman is the editor of The Oxford Book of American Poetry and has been series editor of The Best American Poetry since its inception in 1988.
